What to expect
To be enveloped in sound, light and scent for a while and to be guided into an altered state of consciousness. We’re all vibrational beings - a living breathing field of energy,
Each part of our body is in constant motion and our environment also vibrates in and around us. Vibrational energy can include the things you don’t immediately think of as vibrating - thought patterns, feelings and mindset. Whereas breathing, heartrate and circadian rhythm you can physically feel. They’re both connected. Anxious thoughts can trigger the release of stress hormones which in turn can speed up or slow down the heart rate which you feel within your chest, neck or stomach. Deep within our body, cells and molecules are also busy moving and vibrating at their own incredible nano rate. Vibrations can generate electromagnetic energy waves or fields. Scientists have found that vibration can cause changes within cells. Think of soundwaves used in medical procedures.
By adding in specific sound and vibration to our day we are able to change our body’s vibrations to alter mood, improve physical health, relax or perhaps aid with concentration and clarity.
Higher vibrations are thought to resonate with joy, peace and acceptance whereas lower vibrations linger in anger, fear or despair. Have you ever been around someone who just exudes joy, light and happiness and you also feel lifted and calmer for being around them. Have you ever been around a mood hoover, someone who drains your energy and leaves you feeling down and depleted.
There are various ways we can alter our vibrational energy, taking a walk in nature, breathwork and meditation, practicing gratitude, physical movement and sound therapy can all help.
Each sound bath therefore will be varied depending on your own vibrational energy that day, the group energy and even the energy I bring to the session,
I start the session with a check in and short guided meditation. This helps us all the check in with ourselves and to arrive into the space ready to receive the sounds. You’ll be lying on the floor on a yoga mat/blanket so this time also allows for all those final adjustments and movements you need to make before surrendering to the sound experience. I will then play an array of percussive instruments in and around you, these include gongs, crystal bowls, tibetan bowls, chimes, rainsticks, tuning forks and handheld drum to name a few. I will then guide you out the other side, allowing you to return gently into the present space, giving time for reflection and contemplation and gentle movement.
